Midnight Mayhem With Servers

A real look at juggling business, life, and everything in between.

It’s been one of those weeks.

Monday and Tuesday? Surprisingly productive. I managed to catch up on client work and finally started to feel like I had a grip on things again. But by Wednesday… yeah, I traded my to-do list for a full-on TV binge. The show was great, but that creeping sense of guilt and deflation snuck in too. Still, I didn’t fight it. Sometimes your mind and body are just done—and they don’t need permission to rest. We don’t always need to “earn” our downtime. That’s something I’m still learning to accept.

Behind the scenes, I’ve been pulling together a proper space for The Dawn Shift—not just the blog, but the book(s), newsletter, brainstorm dumps, and the bits that live between the lines. I’ve always been fussy about my systems (guilty), but it finally hit me that I needed a real home base. Somewhere to think, write, plan, and keep the chaos semi-organized. And yes, there’s a book on the way. Actually… there’s more than one. Let that sink in.

Multitasking hits different when you’re raising kids, running a business, managing clients, and trying to stay creatively alive. Some days flow like magic. Other days feel like trying to code underwater. The websites still need launching. The chapters still need writing. The automations still need building. And the vision? Still stitching itself together, slowly but surely.

If I’ve learned anything lately, it’s that the 9–5 doesn’t work for everyone. And if you keep crashing through it, maybe that’s your sign. Your rhythm might look totally different. Mine? It shows up at 1AM, when the house is quiet and my thoughts stop shouting over the noise. That’s when I do my best work. Whatever your hours are—claim them. It’s your journey, and nobody else gets to set the clock.

Thanks for following along on this chaotic, sleep-deprived, strangely rewarding adventure. I’ll see you next Friday for another edition of Dawn Dispatch.
